Bhubaneswar, Sept 10:  A high-level review meeting of the Subhadra Yojana is scheduled to be held today, with a key focus on identifying and excluding ineligible affluent women beneficiaries, while also considering the inclusion of genuine beneficiaries who were left out earlier.

Ahead of the meeting, the Women and Child Development Department has sought detailed reports from three departments — Transport, Food Supplies, and Health.

According to sources:

The Transport and Commerce Department has been asked to submit data on women owning four-wheelers.

The Health Department was instructed to verify the list of deceased beneficiaries.

The Food Supplies Department has been directed to provide information on the extent of land registered in the names of women who have sold paddy.

These inputs will form the basis of today’s review, where crucial decisions are expected. One of the main agenda items is the removal of financially well-off women from the beneficiary list of the Subhadra scheme.

At the same time, the government may also take a decision to include eligible beneficiaries who were inadvertently left out during earlier verifications.

The Subhadra Yojana, aimed at supporting women across Odisha, is undergoing strict scrutiny to ensure transparency and that benefits reach the truly deserving.
