
Khordha, Sept 10: In a daring rescue operation, Khordha police in Odisha on Wednesday (September 10) safely rescued two individuals who had been abducted by a gang of seven assailants and captured two of the suspects.
The development was confirmed by Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG, Central Range, Cuttack.
As per reports, the victims were abducted by seven accused persons who arrived on three bikes and allegedly used blank firing to intimidate. The kidnappers took the victims toward the Patabandha Dam site.
Upon receiving information, the police team, led by IIC Bolgarh, promptly informed the SP and SDPO before heading to the location.
Senior officers, including the SP Khordha, arrived with a platoon of officers and launched a pursuit to rescue the victims and apprehend the culprits.
The kidnappers abandoned the victims near the Baliapata jungle, where they were found by the police team in an injured state.
During the chase, the accused fired blank shots to intimidate the police, but two of the suspects were captured in the Karadapal village jungle with support from the Fatehgarh (Nayagarh) police.
The cops have recovered two bikes used by the accused persons, along with blood-stained clothes and other evidence.
Meanwhile, one of the victims is referred to AIIMS for better treatment, and the health condition of the duo is reported to be stable.
