Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: The Odisha Assembly Session faced significant disruption on Thursday as Congress and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) members caused chaos, leading Speaker Surama Padhi to adjourn the proceedings multiple times.
The third day of the second phase of the session started with turmoil as opposition parties raised issues related to the Chikiti hooch tragedy and Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids.
The session was initially adjourned just minutes after beginning, at 10.36 am till 11.30 am, due to the uproar.
Upon resuming, the House was again interrupted by loud protests from BJD and Congress members over the Ganjam hooch tragedy and ED raids, respectively. Despite attempts by the Speaker Padhy to restore order in the House, the disruptions persisted, prompting another adjournment until 4 pm.
