+2 cut-off mark rising

Bhubaneswar, May 27: The cut-off mark for admission into +2 courses has been rising by around three percent for the last few years.

After record-breaking pass percentages in matric examinations this year, students are concerned about cut-off marks for admission into premium colleges in the state.

Last year there was a rise of five percent in the cut-off mark for admission into Arts and three percent in the Science streams.

The cut-off mark was 88.33 percent for admission into +2 science in BJB Junior College in the general category here in the 2021-22 educational year.

In 2022-23, it rose to 91 percent which is 2.67 percent higher. 

In the Arts stream, the cut-off mark was 76.40 percent in 2021-22 which rose to 80.33 percent in 2022-23, 3.93 percent higher.

Similarly, the cut-off mark was 90 percent for admission into +2 science in Ravenshaw Junior College in the general category here in the 2021-22 educational year.

In 2022-23, it rose to 92.67 percent which is 2.67 percent higher. 

In the Arts stream, the cut-off mark was 76.50 percent in 2021-22 which rose to 82.17 percent in 2022-23.
