Gurugram, Aug 4: Police have arrested a woman, her neighbour with whom she was allegedly having an affair, and three others for the murder of her husband, whose body they attempted to conceal, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Vikram, a resident of Dundahera village in Gurugram, originally from Nawada district in Bihar.
According to police, Vikram’s wife, Soni Devi, confessed during interrogation that she conspired with her neighbour, Ravinder, to kill her husband. The motive reportedly stemmed from a confrontation after their daughter found an objectionable video of Soni and Ravinder on his phone and informed her father.
Police said the accused used online content to plan the murder. Soni initially filed a missing person report at Udyog Vihar police station on July 28. Three days later, on July 31, she filed another complaint alleging that Ravinder had raped her in March 2025 while her husband was away for work. She claimed Ravinder recorded the act and blackmailed her with the video.
However, during the investigation, police detained Ravinder, who allegedly confessed to the murder. Two more suspects, Manish and Fariyaad, were also arrested for their role in the crime. All three men were remanded to five days of police custody on Saturday.
Authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances of the murder, including the disposal of Vikram’s body.
