Bonai, May 24: In a tragic incident, a woman was allegedly killed by her nephew over past rivalry in Asura Khol village under Gurundia police limits in Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Padma Mirdha and accused has been identified as Rajesh Mirdha.
Sources said, the unfortunate incident unfolded when Padma went to take a bath. It is alleged that Rajesh, fueled by past rivalry attacked her by a stick. Subsequently, as Padma collapsed, Rajesh resorted for stoning her to death.
Being informed, the police moved into action and arrested Rajesh. Police also recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the locality.
