
Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: While a dedicated fish market was essential in the Smart City Bhubaneswar, a state-of-the-art wholesale fish market is going to be built up here soon.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for it on October 11 through video conferencing.
The grand fish market will be built up over 5 acres of land under the Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation limits in a prime location.
The PM will also launch the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and lay the foundation stone for an integrated aqua park in the day at Hirakud virtually.
The development was announced during a video conference chaired by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan in presence of the agriculture ministers of the country.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment & Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Gokulananda Mallik represented Odisha here.
Senior officials including Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, and Director of Agriculture, Shubham Saxena, along with senior officers from the Agriculture and Fisheries departments, also attended the meeting.
