Cuttack, Dec 3: In a tragic incident, two lives were at stake on Wednesday after an EV car skidded into the Birupa River in Cuttack.

The incident took place at Panda Sahi, near the IB in the Cuttack city this evening while two youths were reportedly traveling beside the river in an electric car.

According to reports, the car skidded into the Birupa River after the driver lost control over the wheels. As a result two, who were onboard were left stranded for a long time. Meanwhile, the driver could get a close shave with his own effort while the other was confined to the swept away car.

On being informed, locals with police and fire brigades rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation.

The operation is underway. Scuba drivers have been engaged to rescue the stranded one as soon as possible, said sources.
