Naveen seeks MEA Jaishankar’s aid to rescue Odia youth abducted in Mali

Bhubaneswar, July 5: Odisha BJD chief and LoP Naveen Patnaik on Saturday sought  External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s aid to rescue the Odia youth,abducted by militants in Mali, West Africa. 

Expediting the appeal of the victim’s poor mother, Naveen expressed concern and wrote to Jaishankar, to personally intervene into the matter.

Taking to social media platform X, Patnaik wrote, “Concerned to know that Panad Venkat Raman of Hinjilicut block of Ganjam district has been kidnapped by extremists in the African Country Mali. He has remained incommunicado since then, leaving his family in deep agony. Request Union Minister (@MEABharat) Shri @DrSJaishankar to personally intervene in the matter and secure his early and safe release.” 

Worth mentioning, Naveen who is now undergoing treatment in a Mumbai-based hospital, was deeply moved to know that one P. Venkatraman, from his own constituency Hinjilicut, was one of the victims of the militants who is yet remains incommunicado and hostage among others.
