Puri, July 5: The holy chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra, the Nandighosh, Taladhwaja and Darpadalan respectively reached before the Shree Jagannath Temple on Saturday on Bahuda Yatra occasion.
The deities namely Lord Jagannath & Balabhadra with their sister Goddess Subhadra and Chakraraj Sudarshan, embarked on their 9th-day journey, following a merry stay at Gundicha Ghara, their cradle land for days.
The Bahuda Yatra began in the morning after the Sakaldhupa rituals were perfomed in the Srigundicha Temple.
Earlier in the day, the Rath of Lord Balabhdra, the Taladhwaja and the one of Goddess Subhadra, the Darpadalan were pulled towards the Shree Jagannath Temple whereas the Lord Jagannath was finally escorted here atop his Rath.
With the chariot parked today before the Shree Mandir following the basic rituals, the second and one of the prime festivities of Lord Jagannath and his siblings relating to the annual Rath Yatra successfully concluded in the evening.
Now, the three majestic chariots are parked before the temple where tens of thousands of devotees eagerly wait to have their darshan on the raths.
According to tradition and scriptures of the Madala Panji, the special almanac of Lord Jagannath, the chariot of Lord Balabhadra- the Taladhwaja led the procession, followed by the chariot of Goddess Subhadra- the Darpadalana, for their abode in the Shrimandir. Lord Jagannath silently followed his siblings onboard his chariot, for his abode with the help of thousands of devotees, who pulled the Nandighosh out of emotion and devotion.
