Jajpur, Aug 4: A suspected theft attempt was foiled late on Monday night after alert villagers spotted miscreants entering a house at Jagadalpur village under the Gramin Police Station limits.
According to reports, a group of unidentified miscreants allegedly entered the residence of Abinash Satpathy with the intention of committing theft. However, before they could execute their plan, local residents noticed their movement and raised an alarm, forcing the accused to flee from the spot.
The house owner, Abinash Satpathy, is currently staying outside the state for work. As a result, it is yet to be ascertained whether any valuables were stolen from the house.
Meanwhile, locals reported seeing two motorcycles near the house around the time of the incident, raising suspicion that they may have been used by the miscreants. Police are expected to investigate the incident and verify whether any theft actually took place.
