Bengaluru, August 26: The Kannada film industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Dinesh Mangaluru, who passed away on Monday morning at his residence in Kundapura, Udupi district, Karnataka. He was 65.

Dinesh, known for his compelling performances in negative and supporting roles, had been battling health issues for over a year. Family sources revealed that he had previously suffered a brain hemorrhage, and though he was hospitalized, he never fully recovered. The exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed.

A respected name in the Kannada film fraternity, Dinesh Mangaluru gained wide recognition for his role as Shetty, a don, in the blockbuster film KGF: Chapter 1 alongside superstar Yash. His powerful portrayal of a ruthless villain left a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike.

Throughout his career, Dinesh built a strong identity in the industry, known for his intense screen presence and versatility. His passing has sparked an outpouring of grief from colleagues and fans, who remember him not just as an actor but also as a warm and humble individual.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

According to the family, Dinesh’s mortal remains will be transported to Bengaluru today. On Tuesday, August 26, from 8 AM, the body will be kept at his residence in Laggere for the public to pay their final respects. The last rites will be conducted at the Sumanahalli crematorium later in the day.

The Kannada film industry has lost a valuable talent, and Dinesh Mangaluru’s legacy will continue to live on through his memorable performances.
