Bhubaneswar, May 25: Voting is currently in progress for the third phase of the Odisha elections, covering six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats across the state on Saturday.

Polling commenced at 7 am in Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri Lok Sabha constituencies, alongside 42 assembly segments, and is scheduled to continue until 6 pm.

Over 94.48 lakh voters are set to cast their votes using electronic voting machines (EVMs) twice each to decide the fate of 64 candidates competing for six Lok Sabha seats and 383 hopefuls contesting for 42 assembly seats in the significant third phase (sixth for India) of simultaneous elections. This phase is viewed as crucial in determining the composition of the next state government in Odisha.
