Hyderabad, May 15: Following the conclusion of polling for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, the state's major political players – the Congress, BRS, and the BJP – have confidently declared their anticipated triumph in the election outcome.
In the aftermath of the polling day, the ruling Congress, the opposition BRS, and the BJP have each laid claim to securing the majority of seats.
Expressing optimism, both the Congress and BJP anticipate clinching 12 seats, while the BRS asserts its potential to secure more seats than the two national parties combined.
Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is resolute in the Congress's victory, estimating a winning margin of 12-13 seats, whereas BJP national vice-president D.K. Aruna asserts a parallel confidence in his party's success, particularly in her own candidacy for the Mahabubnagar constituency.
The BRS's working president, K.T. Rama Rao, asserts the party's anticipated superiority in Lok Sabha seats over the Congress and BJP. He points to widespread dissatisfaction towards the ruling Congress for its failure to fulfill promises made to various demographics during the Assembly elections.
K.T. Rama Rao predicts a fragmented outcome at the national level, indicating that neither the BJP-led NDA nor the Congress-led INDIA bloc will secure a clear majority. He suggests that regional parties like the BRS, YSR Congress Party, and Biju Janata Dal will wield significant influence in the formation of the next government.
Despite some defections within the BRS ranks to the Congress and BJP, K.T. Rama Rao praises the unwavering commitment of the BRS cadre towards securing victories for the party's candidates.
In contrast, BJP MP K. Laxman interprets the voting trend as a decisive endorsement for Narendra Modi's leadership, signaling a potential third term for him as Prime Minister. Laxman emphasizes a pro-incumbency sentiment, attributing it to Modi's track record of fulfilling promises without resorting to populist giveaways.
Laxman confidently predicts a landslide victory for the BJP, envisioning a tally of 370 seats for the party and an overall NDA count surpassing 400. Additionally, he dismisses the Congress's prospects of becoming the primary opposition party in the upcoming term.
