Hyderabad, July 7: A designated Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Hyderabad on Tuesday remanded suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sankireddy Bheem Reddy to 14 days of judicial custody in a disproportionate assets case involving alleged illegal wealth worth around ₹300 crore.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which arrested the officer on Monday evening, produced him before the court on Tuesday. Following the remand order, he was shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
Bheem Reddy, who was serving in the Police Computer Services (PCS) wing, was arrested from his residence at Vessella Meadows in Ibrahimbagh after extensive searches and an investigation into allegations of corruption and accumulation of assets beyond his known sources of income.
The ACB conducted simultaneous raids on July 2 at the officer’s residence and 15 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and alleged benamidars across Telangana and Karnataka. Investigators claim that the officer amassed substantial wealth through corrupt practices during his service.
According to the ACB, properties unearthed during the searches include multiple villas, residential flats, commercial spaces, open plots, and large tracts of agricultural land in Telangana, Karnataka and Bengaluru. The seized assets are collectively estimated to be worth nearly ₹300 crore, making it one of the largest anti-corruption cases involving a Telangana police officer.
The agency also recovered around ₹43.6 lakh in cash, including ₹40 lakh from an alleged benami property. In addition, officials seized nearly 2 kilograms of gold ornaments, about 20 kilograms of silver articles and detected bank deposits of approximately ₹19.91 lakh.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
