Talcher, Oct 19: The Gajalakshmi Puja Mahotsav is being celebrated in Kalamachhui village in Talcher block. Sixteen pandals have been set up from Banshagadia to Deulachhak for the ceremonial worship of the goddess.
The entire village has been illuminated with modern LED lights and vibrant decorations, creating a festive atmosphere. Notable puja committees include Baunsagadia Sahi, Badathakura Sahi, Padmapad Lakshmi Puja Committee, and MLA chhak among others.
In the evening, devotees participate in worship rituals while enjoying the festivities. Nearby stalls, including Meena Bazaar and fast-food outlets, have drawn large crowd.
The puja festivities feature stories from Hindu mythology, including episodes from the life of Lord Krishna, the churning of the ocean, and tales from the Ramayana, depicting the childhood of Laba and Kusha. The puja mandaps dedicated to Lord Jagannath have also become significant attractions.
The Bhasani festival will be held on the 25th of this month. Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure safety, allowing residents to celebrate peacefully.
