Bhubaneswar, Dec 11: The confusion over the BJP candidate in Chhatrapur assembly segment has persisted for a long time. Who will be the party candidate is not yet clear. Therefore, the aspirants as well as party workers are worried about it. .
As the BJP party candidate in the last election secured significant votes, more than 50 thousands, party workers are hopeful to win the next election by strengthening further. In such a situation, there is a lot of talk about who would be the party candidate. State leadership suggests that whoever gets the ticket will contest the election. The party will not project any candidate so early.
Prasant Kumar Kar, the last time party candidate, has been mobilizing the workers in the locality for 5 years. He is a frontrunner for the party ticket.
However, Krushna Chandra Nayak, a potential aspirant has emerged. He has been seen participating in the party program. He is a young face, a financially powerful leader. He was arrested in 2017 in BJD youth leader Lakshmidatta Pradhan's murder case. However, he has been released from jail recently and leading the party in the constituency.
In 2014, Krushna Chandra contested the election on a CPI ticket and secured more than 30 thousand votes. However, after the election, he joined the BJP and started organizational work.
Now, the two aspirants in the BJP will compete with each other for party ticket.
