Sonepur, June 8: Sonepur Sub-Collector Soumyarupa Rath was hospitalised on Monday after reportedly suffering a heat-related illness while attending a public grievance hearing camp at Bishimunda Gram Panchayat in the district.

According to sources, the grievance redressal camp was underway when Rath, who was present at the venue, suddenly fell ill while seated under a tent. Officials and staff immediately rushed to her aid.

She was subsequently shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a 108 ambulance for treatment. Medical sources said her condition is currently stable and she is under observation.

The incident occurred amid prevailing hot and humid weather conditions in the region.
