Bhubaneswar, August 13: Preparations for the state-level Independence Day celebrations are in their final stage, with a full-dress rehearsal held on Thursday along Gandhi Marg at Lower PMG.
As many as 51 contingents participated in the rehearsal amid tight security arrangements. Special focus has been placed on ensuring that the parade is conducted in a flawless and visually appealing manner.
For the first time this year, “Vande Mataram” will be performed twice, while the National Anthem will also be played twice during the celebrations.
Security has been significantly tightened in and around the parade venue, particularly in view of the presence of VIPs and VVIPs. A three-tier security system has been put in place along Gandhi Marg, with connecting roads sealed and strict surveillance maintained to detect any suspicious activity.
A Chhattisgarh Police contingent will be one of the major attractions of this year’s parade, adding to the grandeur of the state-level Independence Day celebrations.
