Fugitive driver arrested in Rajasthan following viral road rage
Gurugram police have successfully apprehended Kalyan Bainsla in Rajasthan’s Dausa, ending an intense manhunt after he rammed a woman biker on Sunday morning. Bainsla now faces severe legal consequences, including an attempt to murder charge, following viral footage of the weekend incident. Road rage disputes involving reckless driving have become an increasingly severe concern across fast-developing urban corridors in the National Capital Region.

Shivani Chauhan, known as Sia, was riding with a motorcycle group on Gurugram's Golf Course Road when the altercation occurred. According to her statement, a car began trailing her closely, and its occupants appeared intoxicated. When she requested they keep a safe distance, the driver accelerated and struck her bike from the side. The collision violently knocked her to the ground, sending her skidding several metres across the pavement.
Conflicting accounts surface
Bainsla, a gym owner identifying himself as an international kabaddi player, claimed he lost control near a U-turn and did not strike the motorcycle intentionally. He stated he fled without stopping because he feared immediate retaliation from the large group of accompanying bikers. Furthermore, he claimed he did not realise the rider was a woman and alleged the bikers repeatedly blocked his path. Chauhan immediately rejected these claims, questioning why he fled if he was genuinely distressed about an accident.

Authorities upgraded the initial rash driving First Information Report to include an attempt to murder charge after reviewing multiple video angles. One video from a camera mounted directly on Sia's motorcycle captured the car approaching before the impact. Another clip recorded by a fellow rider appears to show the driver gesturing to the woman before actively steering into her path. Senior officer Sandeep Malik confirmed that the visual evidence pointed toward a deliberate strike, prompting authorities to take strict action.
