Top CBI investigator Seema Pahuja leads Disha Salian death probe
Central Bureau of Investigation authorities have assigned Superintendent of Police Seema Pahuja to direct their fresh investigation into the 2020 death of Disha Salian. Salian previously worked as a manager for late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Authorities registered a first information report recently following direct orders from the Bombay High Court. This legal move comes after her father, Satish Salian, filed a formal petition alleging his daughter was murdered. His complaints specifically mentioned Shiv Sena (UBT) politician Aaditya Thackeray and Bollywood actor Dino Morea.
Pahuja brings extensive experience handling sensitive criminal cases across India. She currently serves in the Special Crime Unit at CBI headquarters in New Delhi. Her past assignments feature some of the most discussed criminal probes in recent years. She investigated the 2024 Kolkata RG Kar Hospital tragedy. Previously, she operated within the 15-member team examining the Hathras case in Uttar Pradesh. Her forensic expertise also contributed to solving the Unnao case and the Gudiya incident in Himachal Pradesh. Recognizing her exceptional investigative skills, officials awarded Pahuja a Gold Medal for Best Investigating Officer in 2021. Deputy Superintendent of Police Puran Kumar will join her current Mumbai assignment.

Nobody has been officially named as an accused person yet. Detectives will soon question individuals who attended a party at the residence of Rohan Roy, Salian's fiance, on the night before her fatal fall. Investigators hope to piece together the exact events leading up to the tragedy using these witness statements and available forensic data.
