Bhubaneswar, October 26: The Odisha Under-14 boys' rugby team won the silver medal at the 70th SGFI National Rugby Championship held at the Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi.

The championship was held from October 23 to 26.

The Odisha squad participated in the tournament under the sponsorship of the Odisha State School Games Association, functioning under the School and Mass Education Department.

Odisha finished as runners-up after losing a tough final match to Bihar by 10-2.

Before the final, Odisha stood out as one of the strongest teams in the tournament. They reached the final after a big 15-1 win over host team Delhi in the semifinals, driven by great defending and fast attacking play.
