Bhubaneswar, December 24: Senior IAS Officer Anu Garg has been appointed as Odisha Chief Secretary on Wednesday.
Odisha government approved Garg’s appointment as the new Chief Secretary before the tenure of incumbent Chief Secretary Manoj Ahujha ends.
The General Administration & Public Grievance(GA &PG) Department, government of Odisha issued notification in this connection today.
Anu Garg, a 1999 Odisha Cadre IAS Officer is now working as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), and Development Commissioner to the Odisha government.
Apart from it, Garg had efficiently served the state as Principal Secretary for Planning & Convergence and Water Resources,among other key departments.
“Anu Garg, IAS (RR-1991), DC-cum-ACS and Secretary to Government, Planning and Convergence Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department is appointed as Chief Secretary, Odisha and Secretary to Government, General Administration and Public Grievance Department vice Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS retiring on 31.12.2025,” read the notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.
