Tiger Shroff Shooting Case: Mumbai Police Reveal Extortion Motive, 3 Arrested

It was extortion motive behind Tiger Shroff shooting

Mumbai Police has revealed that financial gain and creating terror were primary motives behind Tiger Shroff shooting. Officials submitted a remand application stating the Bishnoi gang orchestrated this attack to create fear and extort money. This stated motive mirrors findings in recent chargesheets regarding the Salman Khan firing, the Baba Siddique murder, and the Rohit Shetty attack. Conversely, individuals linked to the gang offered a different narrative online. Someone identifying as wanted accused Anil Pandit circulated an audio clip and social media posts. He claimed the gang punished Shroff for remaining close to Salman Khan and ignoring previous warnings. Investigators place this recent incident in the same extortion-driven category as previous high-profile attacks to establish a clear pattern of intimidation.

Officers arrested three suspects identified as Jatin Panchal, Samir Khatri, and Ankit Khatak from Sonipat in Haryana. The trio appeared before the Esplanade court on Friday. Investigators confirmed the accused conducted reconnaissance on residences belonging to other influential figures in the city. The group also planned to flee abroad shortly after executing the attack.

Hotel misfire investigation

Police informed the court that two arrested individuals’ maintained contact with Anil Pandit. Officers requested extended custody to interrogate the suspects about procuring firearms and their connection to the wanted leader. They also need to investigate an accidental misfire that occurred inside a hotel room while the suspects practiced shooting. Defence advocate Ajinkya Mirgal opposed the custody plea during the hearing. He argued that police had already gathered sufficient physical and electronic evidence from the hotel where they stayed. Mirgal stated that authorities could easily seize their devices without requiring further physical remand. Despite these legal objections, the court recognised the need for deeper interrogation. The judge remanded the three suspects into police custody until October 31 to ensure a thorough probe.
