Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Flight disruptions caused by IndiGo’s massive operational breakdown over the past week continue to plague passengers at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar. As of Friday, morning, seven scheduled departures have been cancelled from the state capital amid persistently high airfares running until the end of this year. The canceled flights include routes to major cities like Indore, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Delhi.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are experiencing significant inconvenience, with many still stranded at the airport.

Passengers are facing severe inconveniences due to repeated flight cancellations, delayed baggage handling, and operational lapses that have stretched over the past week.

To assist the stranded passengers, BPIA has set up a 24-hour control room. Passengers seeking updates on flight operations, airport procedures, and rescheduling options can contact the helpline at 8280749239 for verified information.

The disruptions come during a period of unusually high year-end fares on major domestic routes. The week began with reports of abrupt flight cancellations and issues at IndiGo’s baggage counters, with several passengers describing long waits, last-minute cancellations, and problems retrieving their luggage from previous flights.

BPIA officials have stated that they are in continuous communication with IndiGo to manage the situation. They are helping passengers with missed connections, advising them to arrive early, and reminding them to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

With no immediate resolution in sight, the situation continues to be challenging for travelers, especially during this busy travel season.
