Sambalpur, April 4: Keeping in mind the soaring heat wave conditions in Sambalpur, the district collector has issued a safety advisory aimed at protecting citizens, particularly children and the elderly.
The advisory mandates the following measures:
- All government and non-government schools are to operate from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM effective immediately.
- Laborers must not be engaged in outdoor work between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM to avoid heat-related health risks.
- Medical authorities are instructed to establish new sunstroke wards within their facilities to provide specialized treatment to affected individuals.
- 'Jalachhatras' (Temporary drinking water supply points) are to be set up at various locations throughout the day for public access. Additionally, water tanks will be deployed to ensure adequate water supply across the city.
This advisory is directed to the attention of key officials including the B.D.O, Tehsildar, C.D.M.O, D.E.O, and all B.E.Os, emphasizing the collective responsibility to implement these safety measures effectively.
