Bhubaneswar: Mohammad Sharif Ul Islam Shehzad, the attacker of actor Saif Ali Khan, finally in Mumbai police dragnet.
One among the top police force in the country, it took Mumbai Police 72 hours to nab the accused, who stoked fear and sensation in the tinsel town with a murderous attack on the popular actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence past midnight on Jan 16.
If Mumbai police investigation is to be considered, the accused is a Bangladeshi national, and had been in Mumbai just for 5-6months. Prior to this life-threatening attack on the actor, the accused had gone to West Bengal, revealed Mumbai police Sunday at press conference.
The police suspect the accused to be a Bangladesh national.
As per the DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, “There is preliminary evidence that shows the accused is a Bangladeshi national. No valid Indian documents found with him. Some items seized from him suggest him to be a resident of Bangladesh.”
As per the documents seized, Police revealed that the attacker has the following address.
ATTACKER LIVING WITH HINDU NAME
Speaking to the press, Mumbai police revealed that the accused has been living in Mumbai with a Hindu name – Bijoy Das/Vijay Das. He worked at a housekeeping agency in Mumbai for few months, though police didn’t reveal the housekeeping agency’s name.
Investigation so far has revealed that he frequented to West Bengal during his stay in Mumbai. Even, before attacking the actor, he returned to Mumbai from West Bengal, only days ago.
ACCUSED TRAVELLED 32KM, 3 PLACES TO HIDE
Though the Mumbai Crime Branch team led by senior Inspector Daya Nayak, DCPZone 9 Dixit Geddam and Addl. Commissioner Paramjit Singh Dahiya have been tracking the accused 3-4 hours after the incident, the attacker seems to be professional criminal as he tried every tricks in book to evade coming on police radar.
Mumbai police, however, didn’t share details on how they tracked him.
It seems CCTV footages of the accused dropped big clues on the movement of the attacker after committing the crime.

IS IT INSIDER JOB?
The Mumbai Police in the press conference informed that the accused seem to have visited Saif Ali Khan’s house for the first time, but at the same time dropped a big hint.
Police said, “The accused appeared to be familiar with the actor’s house lay out.”
This hint big: As per police, attacker went to actor’s house for the first time on Jan 16, but some insider in the actor’s house had shared the full layout of the actor’s house. and he has reharsed the rob act well to commit the crime flawlessly. For which, he could enter Saif’s house with ease, without any hindrance and detection.
