Rajasthan, Aug 9: The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee lodged a police complaint on Thursday against three members of the association’s former executive committee, accusing them of involvement in multiple scams and irregularities.
The individuals named in the complaint are former RCA Secretary Bhavani Samota, Treasurer Rampal Sharma, and Joint Secretary Rajesh Bhadana. The ad-hoc committee submitted a detailed 363-page investigation report to the police, outlining the alleged misconduct.
Jaideep Bihani, BJP MLA and convener of the committee, stated that their investigation unearthed significant evidence against Samota, Sharma, and Bhadana. He emphasised that it is now the responsibility of the police to determine under whose direction these former officials carried out the alleged scams.
"The decisions taken by the former RCA executive were thoroughly investigated. Numerous scams and irregularities were uncovered during this process," Bihani said. "On Thursday, we visited the Jyoti Nagar police station in Jaipur to officially file the complaint."
Dharamveer Singh, an ad-hoc committee member and Secretary of the Pali District Cricket Association, added that financial experts were enlisted to scrutinise the actions of the former RCA executive. Their findings revealed substantial irregularities, leading to the submission of the comprehensive report to the police. Singh disclosed that the report provides strong evidence of corruption amounting to crores of rupees in the construction of the stadium, as well as in the tendering processes for the IPL and Rajasthan Premier League (RPL).
Bihani reiterated the importance of the investigation, noting that it had exposed many scams and irregularities during the tenure of the former RCA executive. "We are committed to ensuring that these issues are addressed, and today we took a significant step by filing the complaint with the police," he said.
