Canberra, June 28: The much-awaited Rath Yatra in Australia’s Canberra, which was initially postponed due to a significant drop in temperature yesterday, officially began this morning. The bad weather had caused the chariot procession to be delayed, but today the event kicked off with great enthusiasm.
Local leaders, including members of Parliament and Senators from the Flori region, joined the event, contributing to its success. The procession saw hundreds of Indian devotees, alongwith local participants, who followed the Rath Yatra for nearly three kilometers through the streets of Canberra.
As the procession unfolded, many Australian citizens also gathered outside their homes to experience the joy of Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra, sharing in the festive spirit of the occasion.
Currently, the weather in Canberra has cleared, and all eyes are on the event, with Ranjan Acharya, a prominent figure from South India, attending the celebrations as a guest of honor. The Rath Yatra in Canberra continues to be a symbol of cultural unity, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the divinity of Lord Jagannath.
