Puri immersed in divine celebrations as deities begin Bahuda Yatra

The pilgrim town of Puri was enveloped in divine celebrations as Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, were ceremoniously escorted to their chariots from Gundicha Temple ahead of their return journey to Srimandir on Bahuda Yatra on Monday.

Puri, July 15: The pilgrim town of Puri was enveloped in divine celebrations as Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, were ceremoniously escorted to their chariots from Gundicha Temple ahead of their return journey to Srimandir on Bahuda Yatra on Monday.

 

The Dhadi Pahandi ritual commenced with the escorting of Lord Sudarsan to Debadalana, the chariot of Devi Subhadra, by the servitors. 

 

Following this, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath were taken to their respective chariots in grand processions, accompanied by the rhythmic beating of gongs, the resonant blowing of conches, and the fervent chants of "Jay Jagannath."

 

A sea of devotees gathered near the Gundicha Temple to catch a glimpse of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra on their chariots, participating in the auspicious and joyous occasion.
