Bhubaneswar, July 9: Public hearings will be held to gather testimonies and additional information related to the tragic stampede near the Gundicha Temple in Puri on June 29, which claimed the lives of three devotees.

The hearings will take place at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar on July 9 (Wednesday) and at the Special Circuit House in Puri on July 10 (Thursday).

The inquiry is being led by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, who is heading the government-appointed committee investigating the incident.

Members of the public and organizations with relevant information or evidence—including video recordings—are urged to come forward. Submissions can be made in person at the hearings or sent via email to [email protected] by July 20, 2025.

For additional details or to provide information, individuals may contact the office of Anu Garg at (0674) 2536882 or 2391970.

The government has called for a thorough inquiry to determine the circumstances that led to the stampede and is appealing for public cooperation in the investigation.
