Sparsh Hospitals initiates advanced robotic and cardiac care facilities
Sparsh Group of Hospitals in Bhubaneswar recently inaugurated state-of-the-art medical facilities to enhance cardiovascular and minimally invasive treatments. Operations at the Kantabada campus now feature an AI-enabled Cath Lab, the SSI Mantra-3 Robotic Surgical System, and an advanced Cardiothoracic Operating Theatre. This upgrade aims to bring high-quality healthcare closer to patients across Odisha and surrounding regions.
Equipped with the SSI Mantra-3 robotic platform, surgeons gain access to high-definition 3D imaging and multi-jointed mechanical arms. This setup allows for exceptional control during complex procedures requiring tiny incisions. Patients undergoing urology, oncology, gynaecology, and general surgeries benefit from reduced blood loss, minimal post-operative discomfort, and faster recovery times. Dr Madhuri Pattnaik, a senior consultant and recognised as Eastern India's first woman robotic surgeon, directs this innovative surgical program.
Cardiac teams now utilise the newly commissioned AI-enabled Cath Lab to visualize the heart and blood vessels with exceptional clarity. Smart systems assist clinicians in procedural planning and image interpretation during critical interventions. Medical staff can perform coronary angiography, stenting, pacemaker implantation, and peripheral vascular procedures with greater accuracy.
Supporting this infrastructure is a fully integrated 24x7 emergency cardiac care unit. This dedicated floor connects the Emergency Department directly to the Cath Lab and Cardiac ICU. Critical-care specialists, interventional cardiologists, and paramedical staff are available at all times to provide rapid treatment for acute heart conditions. Prof Dr Manash Ranjan Sahoo, Vice Chancellor of Odisha University of Health Sciences, attended the inauguration alongside senior cardiology directors from Capital Hospital Dr Pravat Kumar Dash and CARE Hospitals Dr. Mahendra Prasad Tripathy.
