Preparations in full swing for PM Modi’s Jharsuguda visit on Sep 27

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jharsuguda on September 27, confirmed the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Tuesday.

Modi will address a grand public meeting in Amalipali area in the district.

While Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has already held a preparatory meeting for the scheduled visit of the Prime Minister, the district administration has begun intensive preparations for the event, which is expected to draw around 1 lakh people from Jharsuguda and nearby districts.

BJP state President Manmohan Samal, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy have already inspected the ground.

Officials, including Northern Revenue Commissioner Sachin Ramachandra Yadav and District Collector Kunal Mothiram Chavan, have inspected the venue and discussed on security arrangements, crowd management, and logistics.

The District Collector has cancelled leaves for all district-level officers until September 27.

Notably, PM Modi was scheduled to visit to Berhampur. However, it was cancelled after India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast fresh low pressure over the Bay of Bengal intensifying into a depression and impacting the coastal districts of Odisha including Ganjam.

Modi’s visit is part of the nationwide ‘Seva Parv’ celebrations where he is scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for key infrastructure projects across the state.
