Bhubaneswar, Ap 15: The preparations are in full swing for the Sacred Rukuna Rath Yatra tomorrow, a celebration devoted to Lord Lingaraj. Residents from various areas will actively participate in the festivities. Traffic diversions will be implemented to manage the flow. Prior to the chariot procession, measures will be taken to ensure there are no obstructions along the route.
Considering the heat, water sprinklers will be utilized, and sufficient drinking water will be provided. A total of 12 platoon forces, 2 Additional Deputy Commisioner of Police (ADCP), 6 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), and other officers will also be deployed.
It has been decided that the puling of the chariot will begin at 3.30 pm. The Chariot Festival of Lord Lingaraj is observed in Odisha on the day of Ashokastami, occurring in the month of Chaitra. This festivity spans five to seven days and is revered as the 'Papa Binashakari Yatra,' signifying its role in dispelling evil and sins. The Rukuna Rath, also known as the 'Analeuta' chariot, maintains a straight course during its return journey, symbolizing continuity.
