Pratyasa bags hattrick gold in All India University meet

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace swimmer Pratyasa Ray bagged three gold medals in the All India Inter University Swimming and Diving (M & W) Championship which concluded at SRM University, Chennai on Friday.  

Representing Utkal university, Pratyasa grabbed gold medals each in the 200m, 100m and 50m backstroke events with 2:29.48, 1:08.14 and 31.68 sec respectively.

On the closing day, Pratyasa grabbed gold medal in the 200m backstroke event with 2:29.48 sec, Shrungi Rajesh Bandekar of Jain University and Bhakti Rahul Wadkar of Savitribai Phule Pune University won the silver and bronze medal with 02:31.39 and 02:33.03 respectively in the 200m backstroke event.   

Another Odia swimmer Dibyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan representing KIIT university won a silver and a gold medal in the meet. She won silver medal in the 50m breaststroke clocking 36.19 sec and also won gold in the 200m breaststroke by clocking 2:46.83.
