New Delhi, September 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address the 20th Rozgar Mela on Saturday and distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across various government departments and organisations.
The Rozgar Mela is being organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, with the Prime Minister scheduled to interact with the newly appointed candidates through video conferencing.
The recruits will join several ministries and departments, including the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Defence.
With the latest Rozgar Mela, around 12.75 lakh young people will have received appointment letters through the initiative since its inception.
In Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh will attend the event as the chief guest in Patna. Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, Begusarai MLA Kundan Kumar and Kumhrar MLA Sanjay Gupta are also scheduled to attend.
A parallel Rozgar Mela event will be held at Birla Matushri Hall in Mumbai under an employment-related programme organised by the Department of Revenue. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse will attend the event.
Earlier in July, the Centre informed Parliament that more than 12.5 lakh recruitment letters had been issued through Rozgar Melas since the initiative began. The government has also highlighted efforts to expand skill development and employment opportunities for women as part of its broader focus on women-led development and gender-inclusive growth.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment is also operating the National Career Service (NCS) portal as a one-stop platform for career-related services.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the FutureSkills PRIME programme to enhance the skills of IT-sector jobseekers.
