​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, November 7:A woman allegedly attacked a lady Magistrate, an Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) and a Court Sub-Inspector (CSI) with an iron rod inside the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court premises at Jharigaon in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Saturday.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Sanamati Majhi, allegedly entered the court premises with an iron rod hidden inside a bag while court proceedings were underway. She suddenly attacked APP Pradeep Patnaik on the head, leaving him bleeding.

JMFC Smita Lakra intervened to stop the assault but was also allegedly attacked by the woman, sustaining minor injuries.

Hearing the commotion, the Court Sub-Inspector rushed out of his office to control the situation. However, the woman allegedly struck him on the head with the iron rod, causing bleeding injuries.

The Magistrate, APP and CSI were immediately provided medical treatment and have since been discharged from the hospital.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
