Noel Tata to retire as Titan vice-chairman on November 12

New Delhi, Nov 7: Noel N. Tata will step down as Director and Vice-Chairman of Titan Company Limited on November 12, 2026, upon attaining the age of 70, in accordance with the Tata Group's governance guidelines.

In an exchange filing dated November 5, Titan said Tata would cease to hold the positions of Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director and Vice-Chairman with effect from November 12.

The retirement is in line with the Tata Group's governance norms, which prescribe 70 years as the retirement age for Non-Executive, Non-Independent Directors.

Tata joined Titan's board in March 2022 and has been associated with the Tata Group for more than four decades. Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions across the conglomerate.

He currently serves as Chairman of Trent Limited, Voltas Limited and Tata Investment Corporation Limited. He is also Vice-Chairman of Tata Steel, Chairman of Tata International Limited and Chairman of Tata Trusts.

His impending retirement from Titan's board has raised questions about whether the age-based retirement provision could have implications for his other board positions within the Tata Group.

However, Titan's November 5 filing is limited to his position in the company and does not announce any change in his responsibilities at other Tata Group entities.

Publicly available corporate disclosures continue to list Tata in the aforementioned leadership positions across the group companies. His retirement from Titan's board will take effect on November 12, the company said.
