Bhopal, Sept 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ (Healthy Women, Empowered Families) initiative and the eighth ‘Rashtriya Poshan Maah’ campaign during his visit to Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district tomorrow (September 16), officials confirmed on Tuesday.
During his visit, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several initiatives, including the ‘PM MITRA Park’—one of the seven textile hubs being established across the country, with this one located in Dhar.
He is also scheduled to address a public gathering on the occasion.
Reinforcing his commitment to health, nutrition, fitness, and building a ‘Swachh’ (healthy) and ‘Sashakt’ (empowered) Bharat, PM Modi will launch the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ initiative and the eighth ‘Rashtriya Poshan Maah’ campaign.
Between September 17 and October 2, over one lakh health camps will be organized across the country, marking the largest-ever health outreach initiative for women and children in India. Daily health camps will be conducted at all government health facilities nationwide.
This intensified nationwide campaign aims to deliver women-centric preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services at the community level.
The campaign will enhance screening, early detection, and treatment for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease. It will also promote maternal, child, and adolescent health through services such as antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition support, menstrual hygiene awareness, and lifestyle and mental health education.
Specialist medical services—including gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dental care, dermatology, and psychiatry—will be mobilised through medical colleges, district hospitals, central government institutions, and private hospitals.
As part of the campaign, blood donation drives will be conducted across the country. Donors will be registered on the e-Raktkosh portal, and pledge campaigns will be promoted through the ‘MyGov’ platform.
Beneficiaries will also be enrolled under key government health schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), Ayushman Vaya Vandana, and Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).
Helpdesks will be set up at health camps to assist with card verification and address any grievances.
To promote holistic health and wellness among women and families, the campaign will include yoga sessions, Ayurveda consultations, and other Ayush-based services.
Communities will be mobilised to adopt healthy lifestyle practices, with a strong focus on obesity prevention, improved nutrition, and voluntary blood donation.
On this occasion, PM Modi will also initiate a direct fund transfer under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, crediting eligible women across the country with a single click.
Nearly 10 lakh women across the country are set to benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. As part of the initiative, PM Modi will also launch the Suman Sakhi Chatbot, aimed at raising awareness about maternal and child health.
The chatbot will deliver timely and accurate information to pregnant women, especially in rural and remote areas, helping ensure their access to essential healthcare services.
Strengthening the country’s fight against sickle cell anaemia, PM Modi will distribute the one croreth sickle cell screening and counselling card in the state.
As part of the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, he will also launch the Adi Seva Parv in Madhya Pradesh, a celebration that represents the fusion of tribal pride and the spirit of nation-building.
The initiative will feature a range of service-driven activities in tribal areas, with a focus on health, education, nutrition, skill development, livelihood promotion, sanitation, water conservation, and environmental protection.
Special emphasis will be placed on the Tribal Village Action Plan and Tribal Village Vision 2030, aimed at creating long-term development roadmaps tailored to the unique needs of each tribal village.
Reflecting his commitment to environmental conservation and women’s economic empowerment, Prime Minister Modi will present a sapling to a beneficiary of a women’s self-help group under Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. Over 10,000 women in the state will participate in developing ‘Maa Ki Bagiya.’
Women’s groups are being equipped with all necessary resources to ensure the protection and care of the plants.
