Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives for G7 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in the French town of Evian-les-Bains on Tuesday to engage with global leaders at the 52nd G7 Summit. India joins the conference of top industrialized nations as an invited partner country for the 13th time. This visit marks Modi’s seventh straight participation at the annual gathering, where he plans to champion international cooperation for environmental and economic development. France hosts this year's three-day event, bringing together top executives from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, and Canada.

From Bratislava to Evian

Diplomatic schedules brought the Indian leader to France immediately after he wrapped up bilateral discussions in Slovakia. Indian foreign policy continues to place deep strategic importance on European partnerships, balancing traditional ties with newer economic alliances across central Europe. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico personally saw off the Indian Prime Minister in Bratislava after a series of successful diplomatic breakthroughs.

Expanding European Alliances

During his time in Bratislava, President Peter Pellegrini presented Modi with the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, which is the highest civilian honour in Slovakia. This award represents the 33rd international recognition given to the Indian leader by a foreign government. Officials from both sides signed multiple pacts targeting education, talent mobility, research, and technology sharing. These fresh agreements will establish stronger institutional partnerships and secure professional safety networks between the two nations moving forward.
