Zagreb [Croatia], June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, marking the final stop of his three-nation tour. His visit to Zagreb follows his participation in the G7 Summit in Canada. Upon arrival, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome, making history as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Croatia — a milestone in the strengthening of bilateral ties.

During his stay, PM Modi is scheduled to hold discussions with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and meet President Zoran Milanović. The visit is expected to deepen cooperation in key areas of mutual interest and reaffirm India’s commitment to enhancing partnerships across the European Union.

Reflecting on his Canadian leg of the tour, PM Modi described it as "productive," noting that the G7 Summit featured meaningful dialogue on pressing global challenges. “Concluding a productive Canada visit. Thankful to the Canadian people and Government for hosting a successful G7 Summit, which witnessed fruitful discussions on diverse global issues. We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity and sustainability,” he said in a post on X.

While attending the Outreach Session of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, PM Modi addressed a session on Energy Security: Diversification, Technology and Infrastructure to Ensure Access and Affordability in a Changing World. He stressed the critical importance of energy security for future generations and highlighted India's holistic approach based on availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability.

He also emphasized that India, despite being the world's fastest-growing major economy, has fulfilled its Paris climate commitments ahead of schedule. PM Modi reiterated India's leadership in sustainability efforts through key global initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun-One World-One Grid, calling on the global community to enhance support for these efforts.
