Odisha's IT exports surge from Rs 27 Lakh to Rs 7,500 crore over three decades

Bhubaneswar, July 29: Odisha's exports in the Information Technology (IT) sector have shown remarkable growth, rising from just Rs 27 lakh in 1993-94 to Rs 7,500 crore in 2023-24, the state Assembly was informed on Monday.

In a written statement to the House, Electronics and IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling highlighted that Odisha's software exports commenced in 1993-94, following the establishment of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in 1991.

The Minister noted that Odisha is now among the top ten software-exporting states in the country. 

From 1993-94 to 2023-24, the state has achieved software exports totaling Rs 58,815.61 crore, he said.

Mahaling also mentioned a proposal to achieve software exports of Rs 900 crore during the current year.
