Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: A massive walkathon was organised by Odisha Vigilance in Bhubaneswar to raise public awareness against corruption.
The walkathon started from Power House Square and culminated at Kalinga Stadium. A large number of school students participated in the event, spreading the message against corruption.
Speakers highlighted that corruption is one of the major obstacles to the country's development. They stressed the need to instil awareness among students, who are the future citizens, to build a corruption-free society.
EOW IG Sanjay Kumar Kaushal said that corruption could be eliminated from society not merely through legal action but also by encouraging people to refuse to pay bribes and remain vigilant.
Seminars and awareness meetings are being organised across different parts of the state. A similar walkathon is scheduled to be held in Cuttack city tomorrow.
