Bhubaneswar, Aug 13: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested the R&B former Chief Engineer Tara Prasad Mishra after he was found in possession of disproportionate assets to his known source of income.
He will be forwarded to Court today.
During the searches, Odisha Vigilance unearthed 10 high value flats in Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda, seven plots, deposits worth over Rs 2.7 crore, gold weighing approx 1.5 kg, cash overRs 6 lakh, two luxury cars including Mercedes Benz, branded wrist watches including a Rolex etc during simultaneous searches on properties linked to Tara Prasad Mishra, Former Chief Engineer, Roads & Building (Civil), Odisha.
The officers also found foreign currencies of USA, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia and Singapore. In addition, Mishra has spent Rs 80 Lakh on his daughter’s Medical course.
Sources said, the teams of the anti-corruption agency comprising 12 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, 16 ASIs, and other staff raided the properties of Mishra and his relatives in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Jharsuguda on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, sources informed, adding that the team found some important documents during the search.
