Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: The Odisha Vigilance officials have arrested a junior clerk at the Khandagiri Sub-Registrar Office in Bhubaneswar while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
The accused has been identified as Debajani Kar.
Sources said, Kar had demanded the bribe from an individual in exchange for processing the Registered Sale Deed (RSD) of a subplot on December 9. Following which, a search of the Sub-Registrar’s office led to the discovery of over Rs 15 lakh in cash.
After the trap, Vigilance teams initiated search operations at one of Kar's locations as part of a Disproportionate Assets (DA) investigation.
