Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: While the Police SI jobs scam wreaked havoc among aspirants for the massive & organised irregularities in the recruitment, the Odisha Crime Branch on Thursday raided the ‘Vanik’ Coaching Centre in Bhubaneswar.
Though the precise reason behind the raid is yet unclear, reliable sources said that the sleuths’ surprise signature in the coaching centre is for its alleged role in fixing exam centers.
Apart from it, the Crime Branch reportedly suspects Vanik proprietor’s link with the Panchsoft’s chief, Shankar Prusty, who according to the sleuths is the mastermind behind the high profile job scam.
According to reports, a team of the Odisha Crime Branch led by DSP Narendra Behera, conducted the raid and verified some significant documents including the students’ register, log book and recorded the financial trasaction details of the organization.
According to Crime Branch DSP Behera, on basis of reliable inputs from some arrestees, the team conducted today’s raid at the Vanik Coaching Center at the CRPF Square in the city.
Verifications of some specific documents are underway. Computers’ hard disks of the institutes are also under scanner, said Behera.
