According to the police report, the incident occurred on May 27, when a vehicle carrying explosive materials was headed towards the Banko stone quarry. At that time, a group of 10 to 15 individuals, claiming to be Maoists, intercepted the vehicle near the Banko area and took it towards the Saranda forest. After threatening the driver, they looted 200 packets of explosives from the vehicle and fled into the forest.
