Bhubaneswar, September 22: The State Government on Tuesday effected a minor reshuffle among senior IPS officers and appointed Brahmapur SP and 2015-batch IPS officer Dr Saravana Vivek M as the new DCP, Bhubaneswar.

The development came after the Centre accepted the resignation of 2013-batch IPS officer Jagmohan Meena.

For the context, Meena, the 37-year-old 2013-batch IPS officer submitted his resignation to the Government in June. The Centre accepted it and notified the end of his service on September 11 paving the way for the Odisha Government to appoint his successor amid indications of an imminent police reshuffle.

Besides, Saravana, three more IPS officers have also been transferred and given new responsibility.

According to a Home Department notification, 2019-batch IPS officer and Dhenkanal SP Abinav Sonkar has been posted as the new Brahmapur SP while 2021-batch IPS officer AB Silpa has been named as the new SDPO, Bargada.

Paradeep Additional SP and 2022-batch IPS Mane Ajinkya Baburao has appointed as Dhenknal SP.
