Bhubaneswar, September 23:The Odisha Government has revised the schedule for ward delimitation/division and seat reservation in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The revised schedule covers four Municipal Corporations—Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Brahmapur and Rourkela—and 99 Municipalities and NACs, excluding Boudh district.
For the four Municipal Corporations, details on ward division and seat reservation must be submitted to the Housing & Urban Development Department by October 8, 2026. Draft notifications will be issued on October 22, with objections and suggestions accepted until October 31.
For the 99 Municipalities and NACs, draft notifications will be issued on October 12, with the deadline for objections fixed for October 21. Provisional notifications will follow on October 28.
Appeals against provisional notifications can be filed from October 28 to November 11. The Government will dispose of the appeals between November 18 and 25, and final notifications are scheduled to be issued on November 30, 2026.
The Government has directed all concerned Municipal Commissioners, District Magistrates and Executive Officers to strictly follow the revised timelines to ensure timely completion of the election preparations.
