Odisha govt hikes DA by 2% for its employees and pensioners

Bhubaneswar, May 15: The Odisha government has announced a 2 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. The decision was declared today by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

With this revision, the Dearness Allowance for state government employees has been increased from 58 percent to 60 percent. The enhanced DA will be implemented retrospectively from January 1, 2026.

According to the announcement, employees will receive the revised DA in cash along with their salary for the month of May 2026.

The state government has also approved a corresponding 2 percent increase in Dearness Relief (TI) for pensioners. Pension beneficiaries will receive the enhanced TI amount with their May pension.

The decision is expected to benefit nearly 8.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners across Odisha.

The move is seen as a significant relief measure aimed at helping employees and pensioners cope with rising living costs and inflation.
